21 Jump Street

Fresh out of training, two drastically failing cops are pushed into an undercover program for and to quote 'Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus looking motherf******' which means Jenko and Schmidt apparently fit right in. So the two head back to school to bring down a new drug on the rise, though soon things start to get mixed up with Schmidt finding himself better off than his previous journey through high school while Jenko realizes the times they are a changing. Both get caught up in the hectic new lives of undercover students to the point where they'll have to get over personal issues, allegiance and where their priorities really lie to bring the case to a close and save the day. A journey of self discovery, romance and thrilling conspiracies... is drop kicked out the window as this is all about the laughs of two idiots returning to the wild world of high school, who just happen to be police officers who really don't give a crap about how the job gets done as long as it involves explosions.

Jonah hill takes another turn as a high school joker, Schmidt. He's perfectly suited to this role as it feels like Seth from Superbad is taking another round and again for Hill this is his stomping ground, while not the finest acting that's not what this film is about. Unlike Hill, Channing Tatum isn't as up to date in his comedic performances being much more affiliated with soppy romances and the like but that doesn't put him out of the picture as, a dumbstruck jock Jenko, with a heart and a love/hate relationship with science Tatum throws himself into the role with enthusiasm. While the troublesome duo bring the majority of the hilarity to the flick by themselves the co-stars help, Rob Riggle as a the usual crazy gym teacher Mr.Walters, Ice Cube as the head of the undercover department captain Dickson and Jake M.Johnson and his criminally short act as Principal Dadier.

This isn't anything high brow, this isn't artistic, in cinematography you can question whether it could even be considered a good film. Yet none of the previous statements really matter too much if you just want a quick, stupid and explosive ride through 109 minutes of juvenile jokes this is it, think of 'The Other Guys' set in a high school and even more frantic. You're probably thinking 'Oh not another crappy teen comedy' but in a way you'd be wrong, unlike more recent flurries into teen comedies 21 Jump street hits you between the eyes with its storm of crazy chaos that will have you actually... wait for it.... laugh and not forgetting an amazing surprise cameo from a Hollywood A-lister. I've sat through many a comedy where you think how hilarious it was, then you look back and you realize you did that laughing quietly to yourself. While this may be stupid, immature and hectic it amazingly pulls all the strings and comes out kicking with its tag team stars pulling off something which actually miraculously works. If you want a hit of entertainment which you feel the cinemas have lacked recently " 21 Jump street will slam a smile on to that face whether you want it to or not.

Oz the Great and Powerful

Not the first trip back to Oz but the most well announced arrival of the wizard who happens to look best in green. Oz the great and powerful is the film which tells the story of a petty conman travelling as a small time magician, who finds himself transported to the world Oz via a tornado collision. After a crash landing, the conman finds himself face to face with Theodora herself a witch, who believes the man in front of her is none over than the prophesied wizard who will save them from the wicked and dark forces lurking in the shadows. Promised all the gold in the fabled Emerald City, Oz sets about on a journey up the yellow brick road, though when it comes to sitting the throne Thedora's sister Evenora informs the would be wizard that if he really wants the throne, he'll have to defeat the wicked witch. With greed in abundance, Oz sets out to earn his gold but along the way both the companions he makes and the trials he faces shape him into something that resembl...

Oblivion

Cruise is back doing what comes naturally. No, not impossible missions, this time round Cruise is back on Sci-fi but instead of running from crimes he already commit in the future(How long has it been now since minority report?) he finds himself the maintenance man of a post-apocalyptic earth in 2077. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

Impossibly the fourth in the franchise isn't a mission too far and proves itself a worthy edition. Ethan hunt is back, after breaking out of prison in Moscow with the help of the IMF he's brought up to speed and forced into a new mission to infiltrate the heart of Russia itself, the Kremlin. Mid mission things go sour and the operation is called off as Hunt still in disguise escapes the Kremlin behind him bursts into flames, the Russians view this as an act of war sending Hunt and his team on the run. Meeting with the secretary of defense in secret Hunt is informed that the whole IMF has been disbanded, Hunt is on his own and the orders are to take him in... Unless he chooses to accept a new mission. The president activates ghost protocol meaning the remnants of the IMF must on their own discover who's responsible for bombing the Kremlin, bring them to justice and at the same time prevent a nuclear holocaust sparking between Russia and America.  Tom Cruis...
