Limitless

Limitless. The idea, the concept, the cast, i really wanted to enjoy this, from the moment i saw the trailer i said 'i'm seeing this!' yet in reality nothing is as good as the drug NZT, which enhances you to the point where your intelligence mocks that of Einstein and gives you the charisma to sleep with any woman in sight. Bradley Cooper (great in previous films like The Hangover and the admittedly over the top A-Team) seemed quite bland as the drug addicted writer-turned-businessman Eddie Morra, maybe its not that his acting was out of place but the character just seemed really dull. Robert De Niro seems to be a wasted talent (with a very short amount of screen time) his character is shown as a big businessman who acts at first as push for Eddie into a business tycoon, who then turns to a potential threat. The third and really final  main character playing Eddie's girlfriend is Abbie Cornish who honestly only appears at points where the a random character is needed to push the story forwards.

The Plot revolves around NZT, which is given to Eddie by his Ex-wife's brother (yeah....) who offers Eddie a way to 'Improve' himself. Curious Eddie decides to test it, after seducing the landlord's young Asian wife and making a considerable progress on his book which previously he was struggling to start, decides to take up the offer that Ex-wife's brother made. When Eddie goes to visit him and finds him dead, he's at first startled and shocked to discover the gruesome scene, yet with some lingering effects of NZT in his system he realizes why he was killed and frantically begins searching for the same thing the killer did, the NZT. And so begins Eddie's dive into the world of the ultimate drug, allowing him to become a better version of himself and use his new intelligence to make big money and take the best of life for his own. With the drug soon showing side effects and supposedly jumping his mind several paces ahead of his body, he is left with considerable amnesia of the events that take place and begins questioning the safety of NZT.

While the idea is great, what happens when you can become the best you can be and unlock all your potential all with the help of a pill, unfortunately the presentation of it lacks the same drive that the imaginary drug gives. As the film moves forward it gradually builds up the tension and at first you really want to see how this drug effects Eddie, but as it reaches the middle,  the excitement quickly disappears and it remains until the end a dull, dragging  experience where no real change occurs in the story and even the end itself feels sudden and cut off. Again i say i really wanted to like this and at the beginning i did, but i really lost interest towards the end and i soon realized that the entertainment value of this film is actually limited.

With greed in abundance, Oz sets out to earn his gold but along the way both the companions he makes and the trials he faces shape him into something that resembl...

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

Impossibly the fourth in the franchise isn't a mission too far and proves itself a worthy edition. Ethan hunt is back, after breaking out of prison in Moscow with the help of the IMF he's brought up to speed and forced into a new mission to infiltrate the heart of Russia itself, the Kremlin. Mid mission things go sour and the operation is called off as Hunt still in disguise escapes the Kremlin behind him bursts into flames, the Russians view this as an act of war sending Hunt and his team on the run. Meeting with the secretary of defense in secret Hunt is informed that the whole IMF has been disbanded, Hunt is on his own and the orders are to take him in... Unless he chooses to accept a new mission. The president activates ghost protocol meaning the remnants of the IMF must on their own discover who's responsible for bombing the Kremlin, bring them to justice and at the same time prevent a nuclear holocaust sparking between Russia and America.  Tom Cruis...

Cruise is back doing what comes naturally.
